BRBVA entered into a cooperative agreement with BREC in October 2011, immediately broke ground on a $5 million dollar Fidelity Bank Sportsplex, and opened its doors July of 2012. The facility incorporates multiple competitive indoor sports arenas and learning classrooms. BRBVA has three over-arching goals for the facility, the combination of which are currently not being addressed in any other Baton Rouge organization: 1) Provide quality, family-oriented recreational opportunities for the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish; 2) Employee 3-D life coaching principles into youth basketball and volleyball programming; and 3) Create an engaging, inclusive environment where participants from diverse socio-economic backgrounds can interact.
